Neurotoxins like Dysport, Botox, and Xeomin are prescription injectable medications/neurotoxins,  that are injected into muscles and used to improve the look of lines and wrinkles.  MedSpa Downtown provides the highest quality Botox,  Dysport, and Xeomin in  West Georgia  and East Alabama  with a customized approach and exceptional skill.

Treatments with any neurotoxin are typically quick, customized to the clients specific needs and could be accomplished in less than an hour. Neurotoxin treatments work by cutting off the connection between the neuron and the muscle that has been injected.

WILL MY FACE LOOK UN-NATURAL?

Treatment with neurotoxins deliver subtle but impactful results. Results will start to be seen within  7-14 days following your treatment. The results typically last 3-4 months. However, some individuals  who are genetically blessed, metabolize the product slower and can see results anywhere from 5 to 8 months. At MedSpa Downtown you will be treated by a licensed trained expert in anatomy so the results look very natural. Each Toxin treatment is customized to the individual. No treatment is the same.

What are the differences in Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport?

Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport are types of botulinum toxins. These three products are primarly used for prevention and corrective treatment of wrinkles. However, they can be used to treat other medical conditions like migraines,  excessive sweating,  muscle spasms and other health related conditions. The differences between the three products are at the molecular level. Some people metabolize products differently which is why we offer a variety.

How long does a botox, dysport, or xeomin treatment take?

The first visit can take anywhere from 45-60 minutes. This allows our staff to develop a individualized treatment plan based on your needs and physiology. We also take time to answer questions you may have during the initial visit. Follow-up visits typically take 30-45 minutes. Making it an easy lunch-time procedure for individuals working in Carrollton, Dallas, Douglasville, Newnan and/or Hiram

ARE THERE oTHER MEDICATIONS THAT INTERACT WITH NEUROTOXINS?

Antihistamines like Benadryl can increase the effect of botulinum toxin

Certain antibiotics like gentamicin, tobramycin, clindamycin, or neomycin may increase the effect of botulinum toxin

Certain medications that thin your blood like ibuprofen, warfarin, or aspirin may result in bruising

If you have a history of cold sores please let your provider know, they may put you on an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.

Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after treatment

HOW DO I KNOW IF It is time to get treatment with BOTOX, DYSPORT, or Xeomin?

Visible wrinkles when your face or forehead when your face is at rest

A horizontal or perpendicular line on the nose at rest

Fine lines or wrinkles in the corners of your eyes

Visible vertical lines between your eyebrows, often referred to as “eleven lines”

A frown at rest or downward turn on the corners of your mouth

Gums visible when you smile big

Lip turns down or inward when you smile

Vertical lines at rest above top lip or below the bottom lip. Commonly associated with talking with the center of your mouth,  often caused by smoking and/or drinking through a straw

What are the benefits of “preventative Botox”?
Most people start to notice the early signs of aging -such as crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, and fine lines- in their 20s and 30s. Preventative botox will prevent your lines from setting into deep wrinkles, whereas corrective botox reduces the appearance of wrinkles.  People who receive preventative botox before their wrinkles have fully set will not need as much Botox when they are older. Which means they will end up saving money in the long run.
